Who is on your Board of Directors?
Governors' Prayer Team Founders are:
Rev. Thomas C. Walker

Mission
As a national effort we seek the commitment of all Americans to fervently pray daily for all those in authority including their states visual starting point, a lightning rod from which prayer can begin, prayer for their Governor, his staff and legislature that can dramatically impact their daily lives.

Who we are
The Governors' Prayer Team is a cooperative effort of independent Christian ministries, businesses and people who are working together to intercede for and on behalf of all those in authority including the position Governor for their state. The network will enable participants to distribute prayer requests regarding the challenges facing the Leaders of today's world to committed prayer leaders & intercessor teams in the communities of all 50 States. The network enables the teams to share feedback with those they intercede for and share communication with other network members.
Many elected officials encourage prayer, however because this is a long-term effort that will extend beyond the term of these appointed and elected officials, no endorsements are sought. We hold no affiliation with any political or religious organizations, nor will it ever be used for political or gain.

All information will be kept confidential and be used only for the Governors' Prayer Team purpose. See our Privacy Policy

Where do you get all of your information?
The updates are compiled by each prayer team leader from information in various forms all of which are available in the public domain.

Who is welcome on this prayer team?
We are a Christian focused group. Governors' Prayer Team does not involve itself in determining who is praying accurately or who should and shouldn't pray. All those who find themselves in alignment with our statement of faith are welcome.

The Governors’ Prayer Team operates under the authority of an independent, religious, 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. It is not connected with any political party nor does it receive any financial assistance from the government. Federal guidelines give us the right to define our purpose and promote prayer and events that are consistent with our own religious traditions and beliefs.

The Governors’ Prayer Team is not an interfaith ministry. Because there are fundamental differences in the beliefs of Christians and non-Christians (as defined by the Lausanne Covenant), including methods of prayer and worship, there is not a common ground upon which to unite without compromising important faith tenets held by the individual groups. Nevertheless, we affirm the right of each American to pray and arrange observances that reflect his or her own religious perspective, and we do not discourage such efforts in any way

Why Join A Prayer Team Focused On Leaders
Simple!  The Bible instructs us to do so!  In 1 Timothy 2:1-4 we read, “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our savior, who wants all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Information is essential!  Information is needed to know how to pray. Focused daily prayer is important. Many people joining together in spiritual unity and prayer can change the world. While praying daily for someone, there is an innate need to let that person know that they are being prayed for. Also, if you know many people are praying for you, it tends to change how you might respond and react to decisions and challenges.

Joining as an intercessor is free!

To sign up for the Governors' Prayer Team first go to the map and select your state and then county from which you live, please click on the "Join the Prayer Team" link.
